Opened in July 2003, the Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai, marked Shangri-La’s first venture outside the Asia-Pacific region. The hotel features 302 guest rooms and suites, each designed with a blend of contemporary style and traditional Arabian accents. Additionally, the property includes 126 serviced apartments, catering to both short-term and long-term guests.

The hotel offers a variety of dining options, including:

  • Hoi An: Specializing in traditional Vietnamese dishes.
  • Marrakech: Offering Moroccan favorites in a traditional courtyard setting.

In August 2023, Hakan Ozel, the long-serving General Manager of Shangri-La Dubai since 2016, was promoted to Area General Manager, Operations for Shangri-La across the Middle East, Europe, India, and the Americas. Despite his expanded role, he continues to oversee the operations of the Dubai property, ensuring the hotel’s commitment to excellence.
